The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams are preparing for the Meet of Champions hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, with competition starting at 1:30 p.m. on Friday and resuming at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Illinois Wesleyan recently excelled at the Greenville Select meet, achieving eight new top-10 marks across both the men's and women's squads. Freshman Imani Ogunribido notably improved her standing in Division III with a leap of 12.23 meters in the triple jump, moving from 18th to second this season.

Junior Carlyssa King achieved a personal best in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.08 meters, placing her second all-time for the program and fourth in the conference. Freshman Loreal Tucker also made it into IWU's top-10 with her performance in the same event.

The men's sprint team had a strong showing in the 200-meter dash, securing four top-10 marks in program history. Sophomore Evan Lowder led with an event-winning time of 21.37 seconds, ranking third all-time for IWU.

Lowder joined Reece Dusek, Noah Sadowski, Tyrice Bender, and junior Alex Harvey to win the 4-by-400m relay with a time of 3:13.47.

The Meet of Champions will feature more than 30 collegiate teams including several nationally-ranked ones from both men's and women's categories. Participating CCIW schools include Augustana College, Carroll University, Carthage College, IWU itself, Millikin University, and North Central College.

Augustana College will provide live streaming of the meet while live statistics can be accessed online. Final results will be available on iwusports.com after the meet concludes.
