The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team has secured the No. 10 spot in the D3hoops.com Top-25 poll for week three, released on Monday evening, December 9th. The Titans are the only team from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) to make it into the top-25 rankings, while Carthage College received votes but did not rank.

Illinois Wesleyan's current season record stands at 7-1 overall, with a conference play record of 1-1. The team experienced its first loss of the season in a conference opener against Carthage on December 4th but recovered with a victory over Carroll on December 7th.

In this week's poll, Emory University claimed the top position with 607 points and received 14 first-place votes. Washington University followed closely at No. 2 with 598 points and ten first-place votes. Trinity College (Conn.) ranked third, having earned one first-place vote. Trine University dropped to fourth place from their previous No. 1 ranking, and UW-Platteville completed the top-five list.

Looking ahead, Illinois Wesleyan will host Elmhurst University at home inside the Shirk Center on Sunday, December 15th, with tipoff scheduled for 4 p.m.

The D3hoops.com Top-25 poll is determined by a panel of coaches, Sports Information Directors, and media members from across the nation. It is published weekly based on a point system where points are awarded on a descending scale from 25 downwards.
