Village of Gridley Village Board met Dec. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Gridley was held at the Village Hall on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Jeff Benedict opened with a word of prayer.

President Benedict called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Michael Finck, Richard Martin, Susan Laiming, Kevin Krones, Jay Kiefer and Mick Finck. Quorum present. Employees Jen Hany and Phil Romersberger were present.

Jeff asked if there were any corrections or additions to the November meeting minutes. There were none. Jay made a motion to approve the minutes and Kevin seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk.” There were no additions. Susan made a motion to approve the bills and Michael seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Trustees reviewed the Treasurer's report. After discussion, Michael made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Richard seconded. All present answered in favor. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Michael presented the annual cash farm lease agreement with Special K Hog Farm for the 10 acres beside the sewer lagoon. The term of the lease is March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026 at $295.00 per acre. After discussion, Michael made a motion to enter into the cash farm lease. Jay seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Jay presented a proposal and contract from Hoerr Construction for cleaning and televising of storm sewer and catch basin, jetting and vacuuming from 4th Street North. Cost is estimated at $4,967 per day depending on what is found. After discussion, Jay made a motion to approve the contract, Susan seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Jay presented a proposal from Knobloch, Inc. for various storm sewer work to be completed. There are 8 different areas of concern and the cost is estimated to be $32,620.00. A contract will be needed to be provided by the village attorney, if approved. After discussion, Jay made a motion to approve the quote and to authorize the village attorney to prepare a contract. Kevin seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck yea. Motion carried.

Susan introduced Sheryl Solomonson, Library Director, who has asked to be allowed to create a Story Walk in Westview Park. After discussion, Susan made a motion to allow the Story Walk and to ask the village attorney to prepare an intergovernmental agreement between the Village and the library. Michael seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Susan reported that the property committee met with Farnsworth Group to discuss the renovation and rehab of the pool. The committee will be meeting with the engineer again Thursday, December 5 to learn more.

Mick made a motion to adjourn. Jay seconded. Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
