The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team is set to compete in the Morgan Classic, hosted by Springfield College from February 14-15. The Titans, currently holding a 9-3 record, will face Arcadia University on Friday night and will then compete against either No. 6 Springfield or No. 1 New York University on Saturday.

Brandon Mueller, head coach of IWU, returns to his alma mater where he achieved significant success as a player. During his time at Springfield College, Mueller won two national championships and was inducted into the Springfield Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. His career records include kills (1,604), points (1,835.5), and aces (109). He was also recognized as a two-time AVCA First Team All-American.

The Titans approach this weekend after splitting matches in the IWU Triangular III event on February 9. They lost to Benedictine University but later defeated Wabash College with Bryce Williams setting a program match record for attack percentage. Sophomore Brenden Reutter made history by becoming the first IWU player to be named an American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week.

Reutter's recent performances have earned him multiple accolades including being named to the FrogJump Team of the Week and receiving the CCIW Setter of the Week award alongside Gavin Rohlwing who was honored as CCIW Defensive Player of the Week.

Williams leads IWU's offense with 124 kills this season while Rohlwing follows closely behind with 93 kills. Reutter and Vince DiCosola have been instrumental in orchestrating plays with significant assist numbers.

Defensively, Rohlwing could potentially break the program's single-season block record this weekend. He leads both his conference and ranks nationally in blocks per set. Jace Milka tops IWU’s defense in digs followed by Williams and Reutter.

This tournament marks IWU's first encounter with Arcadia, NYU, or Springfield. Arcadia recently faced defeat against Rutgers-Newark while Springfield and NYU come off wins against Nichols and Stevens respectively.
