The Illinois State women's tennis team is set to face Marshall and Radford in upcoming matches in West Virginia. The Redbirds, currently holding a 4-3 record, will compete against the Marshall Thundering Herd on February 21 and the Radford Highlanders on February 22.
In their previous match, the Redbirds defeated Butler University with a score of 4-1. The team secured three singles victories and claimed the doubles point. Junior Silvia Pomarolli won her singles match against Norah Balthazor, while junior Nuria Sanz and freshman Nicole Iosio also contributed wins in their respective singles matches. In doubles play, Lana Caculovic paired with Pomarolli for a victory at No. 1 position, while Emma Lindh teamed up with Elena Jankulovska to win at No. 2. Sanz and Iosio completed the doubles sweep.
Marshall recently achieved a victory over VCU, highlighted by strong performances from Sophia Hurrion/Aisling McGrane in doubles and Emma Vanderheyden in singles play.
Radford experienced a loss against Liberty University but saw success from Lexi Smolder in singles competition and Brooke Murphy/Michaela Stephens in doubles.
