The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team is preparing for a match against Millikin University set for Saturday, March 29. The event is scheduled to take place at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Illinois, beginning at 10 a.m.

The Titans currently have a record of 4-7. Last weekend, they achieved a victory against Monmouth College with a 7-0 scoreline but later lost to Principia College, 4-3. The win against Monmouth represented their third consecutive victory in the series of ten matches. Conversely, the loss marked the seventh time they were defeated by Principia in eight encounters.

In the Monmouth match, Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) secured a successful doubles sweep. Ian Turnbull and Ben Vigneri celebrated a 6-1 win at the No. 1 doubles. Ryan McCoy and Thad Dillow delivered a 6-0 triumph at the No. 2 doubles, while Griffin Hammond and Chase Tomecki achieved the same score at the No. 3 doubles. Individually, the same players continued their run by winning their respective singles matches against Monmouth.

The dual match against Principia brought a narrow loss for IWU with a 4-3 scoreline. A default by Principia granted IWU a win in the No. 3 doubles, allowing Principia to lead into the singles matches. Dillow, Hammond, and Tomecki managed victories in the singles playing in the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 spots.

The upcoming match against Millikin University marks the 16th meeting between the two sides, dating back to 1990. The Titans lead the series 14-9, following a 6-3 victory in their most recent encounter on April 6, 2024. Millikin will arrive in Bloomington after a 5-2 defeat to Asbury University on March 20.
