Illinois State University's men's golf team is set to compete in the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City. This event serves as their final preparation before the Missouri Valley Conference Championships. The competition, hosted by the University of Iowa, takes place from April 13 to April 14 at the Finkbine Golf Club.

The course, opened in 1955, is located on the University of Iowa campus and is renowned for its challenging design. With a layout stretching 7,197 yards at a par of 71, the course includes sloped greens and sand bunkering on 17 holes. The signature 13th hole features an island green surrounded by water.

The Illinois State lineup consists of players Alex McCulla, TJ Barger, Will Troy, Max Faucquez, and Pietro Pontiggia. Aiden Cudney will compete as an individual. The Redbirds will join other teams, including nationally ranked competitors like Little Rock and Kansas.

Illinois State has a history of participation in the Hawkeye Invitational. In the previous season, the team tied for fourth place out of 16 teams. Historical results for the Redbirds include finishes in 2023, 2022, and 1994.

Live scoring for the event will be available on Golfstat, and updates are accessible on GoRedbirds.com and the Illinois State Redbirds App. These platforms provide more information on Illinois State Athletics, tickets, and merchandise.
