Illinois Wesleyan University's women's golf team concluded its regular season by securing second place at the Cardinal Classic. The 18th-ranked team finished with a combined score of 639 after enduring strong winds at Bolingbrook Golf Club on April 22. The two-day event saw Illinois Wesleyan card a score of 322 on the final day.

Washington University, ranked fourth nationally, led the tournament with a total score of 615, ending with a 299 round. Aurora finished third with a score of 652, while Lake Forest and Carthage rounded out the top five at 672 and 674 respectively. WashU's Amy Beanblossom claimed the individual medalist honor with a tournament score of 149.

Jacque O'Neill was the standout performer for Illinois Wesleyan, tying for second place with a score of 155. Macy Ludwig secured seventh place with a final score of 158. Emily Gastrau and Grace Fagan earned top-15 positions, finishing tied for 11th and 14th respectively.

The focus now shifts to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship, for which Illinois Wesleyan has qualified as the automatic entry from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The tournament will be held from May 13-16 at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.
