Illinois Wesleyan athletes compete in opening day of Drake Relays

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field team participated in the opening day of the Drake Relays in Des Moines. Two athletes represented the Titans, with junior Adriana Crabtree competing in the 1500-meter race and senior Annalese Chudy running the 10k.

Crabtree took part in the university/college division unseeded 1500m, achieving a personal record with a time of 4:33.64. This performance improved her standing to the No. 2 mark in the program's history, with Crabtree finishing 16th out of 24 athletes across all NCAA divisions.

In the women's 10k, Chudy initially held the 20th position during the first 3k. As the race progressed, she moved up to the top-15 by the halfway point, eventually securing a 15th place finish with a time of 37:10.80.

The Titans will continue their participation in the Drake Relays on Friday, April 25. Scheduled events include the women's triple jump at 10 a.m., the men's 4-by-400m relay at 3:31 p.m., and the men's 400m at 5:34 p.m.
