Holland receives CCIW pitcher of the week honor for a third time this season

For the third time this season, Mallory Holland has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Week. The announcement, made by the league office on Monday, April 28, marks the second consecutive week Holland has received this honor. This accolade brings Illinois Wesleyan's total weekly awards this season to six, with teammate Jen Kuhn named hitter of the week twice and Gianna Certa as pitcher of the week once.

During the week from April 23 to 27, Holland delivered strong performances for the Illinois Wesleyan Titans. Over 17 innings, she achieved a 3-0 record with a 0.41 earned run average. The Shelbyville native limited opponents to a .194 batting average while allowing just one earned run.

Holland's week began with a six-inning shutout against North Central on April 23, where she struck out three and allowed only three hits. On April 26, she contributed five innings of two-hit play in a victory at Carroll. The week concluded with Holland's six innings leading the Titans to a win at Carthage on April 27, clinching at least a share of the CCIW Regular Season Championship.

Looking ahead, the Titans aim to secure sole possession of the league championship in their regular season finale against Augustana College on Wednesday, April 30. The game is set to start at 2 p.m.
