Playing through challenging weather and a substantial delay, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team nearly completed their first round at the NCAA Division III National Championship at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. The competition on Tuesday, May 13, was interrupted after just two holes due to adverse conditions.

The round was eventually suspended because of darkness following a weather delay that lasted almost five hours. Play is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, May 14. To achieve the goal of completing 36 holes by the end of the day, teams will start again at 8 a.m., with a cut occurring after two full rounds are finished.

Sophomore Nora Cerroni from Waukesha North and freshman Gigi Zera from Loyola Academy managed to complete their rounds during their debut at the NCAA Championship. Cerroni ended her day with a score of 12-over par, while Zera finished seven-over with a score of 79.
