Indiana State secured a decisive 17-3 victory over Illinois State in the second game of their Missouri Valley Conference series on Friday. The match, held in Terre Haute, saw the Sycamores overpower the Redbirds, who now hold a record of 26-26 overall and 14-12 in the MVC. Meanwhile, Indiana State improved to 24-29 overall and 12-14 in conference play.
The game began with Judah Morris giving Illinois State an early lead with a two-run home run in the first inning. However, Indiana State responded by scoring six consecutive runs, including home runs in both the second and third innings. A wild pitch by Indiana State allowed another run for Illinois State in the fifth inning, bringing the score to 6-3.
