The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team concluded their participation in the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship with a second-place finish. The event, held in Penfield, New York, saw IWU achieve a total score of 1180 over four rounds.

Senior golfer Griffin Pohl distinguished himself by tying for seventh place. "Pohl, who took home third-place a season ago, went three-under on the back nine to card a two-under, 70," and his overall performance secured him another All-American title. This achievement makes Pohl the first Titan since Dex Reese to rank in the top-10 in multiple NCAA Championships.

Junior Michael Spitzer also delivered a strong performance, finishing tied for 14th place with a final score of 294. "Spitzer went even par in the final round carding a 72 to conclude the tournament."

Other contributors to IWU's success included juniors Juney Bai and Aidan Healy as well as senior Quinn Clifford. Bai completed the tournament with a score of 298, Healy finished at 304 during his national tournament debut, and Clifford scored 305.

Methodist University clinched the national title with an impressive six-under-par round on the last day, concluding with an overall score of 1175. They were followed by IWU at 1180, Emory at 1182, Washington & Lee at 1183, and Carnegie Mellon at 1185. Edward Coffren from Lynchburg won the individual championship with a total score of 280.

This event marked not only the end of IWU's season but also signified "the conclusion of the storied collegiate careers of Pohl and Clifford." Over this season, IWU claimed victory in five tournaments and delivered its best NCAA Championship result since winning it all in 2021.
