Illinois State University’s volleyball program will host a block party on September 14 outside CEFCU Arena, ahead of the Redbirds' scheduled match against the Illinois Illini. The event is set to take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the North Plaza and is open to the public at no cost.
The celebration will feature music provided by a DJ from Cumulus Bloomington. Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the event. Attendees can expect several attractions, including bounce houses from Fun on the Run, balloon art by Unique Twist, face painting by Zoo Lady and her Crew, and a rock-climbing wall supplied by Upper Limits. There will also be a sport court where children can play basketball.
"Illinois State Volleyball will be hosting a block party outside of CEFCU Arena on the North Plaza of the arena on September 14, leading into the Redbirds' 2 p.m. contest against the Illinois Illini," organizers stated in an announcement.
The upcoming game against Illinois concludes a weekend of volleyball activities at CEFCU Arena as part of the 2025 Linda Herman Volleyball Invitational. This tournament includes teams from Illinois, Cincinnati, and Miami (Fla.). The Redbirds begin their participation in the invitational with a match against Miami on Friday, September 12 at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Saturday game against Cincinnati at 4 p.m.
