The Illinois State football team, currently ranked No. 18, is preparing for an important Missouri Valley Football Conference game against No. 21 South Dakota this weekend. The Redbirds, with a record of 4-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play, will face the Coyotes (5-3, 3-1 MVFC) in Vermillion, South Dakota.
Ahead of the matchup, head coach Brock Spack will appear at The Brock Spack Show on Thursday at Schooners in Bloomington. The event starts at 6 p.m. and is presented by Redbird Ale from DESTIHL.
Coach Spack will discuss the team's recent Homecoming loss to Youngstown State and preview the upcoming road game. He will be joined by John Fitzgerald, the play-by-play announcer for Redbird football, and color analyst Ted Schmitz. Junior defensive lineman Jake Anderson is scheduled as this week's player guest, while Director of Athletic Performance Matt Nicholson will join as a special guest.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington near Clinton Boulevard. Fans unable to attend can listen to the show live on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities or stream it online via GoRedbirds.com and The Varsity Network. Portions of the show will also be available on the Illinois State Athletics Facebook page.
