The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team secured a 1-0 victory over Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, on Wednesday, October 29. This win concluded the Titans' regular season and ensured them the No. 4 seed in the upcoming College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament. As a result, the team will have home field advantage for their quarterfinal match.

The Titans finished the regular season with a record of 9-7-2 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play, marking their best performance since 2022. Millikin ended its season at 4-10-4 overall and 1-5-2 in CCIW competition.

Sophomore goalkeeper Vanessa Gray recorded her fifth career shutout and made two saves during the match. The Titans registered nine shots on target compared to three by Millikin.

Illinois Wesleyan applied early pressure with three consecutive shots on goal, all stopped by Millikin's goalkeeper. In the 28th minute, freshman Hannah Henry blocked a clearance attempt from Millikin, directing the ball to sophomore Keira Robinson. Robinson scored inside the near post to give IWU a 1-0 lead.

Millikin had opportunities to equalize in the second half but was denied by solid defensive efforts from Illinois Wesleyan players, including senior Bree Cordray who blocked a shot near the goal line in the 69th minute.

With this result, Illinois Wesleyan will host Wheaton College at Neis Field on Saturday, November 1, for the CCIW Tournament Quarterfinals. The match is scheduled to begin at noon.
