COLUMBIA, Mo. – After winning the opening tournament of the 2024-25 season, where Redbird golfers Morgan Jones and Jinyoung Yun shared medalist honors, the Illinois State women's golf team travels to Columbia, Missouri, to compete in the Johnny Imes Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri.

Last Time Out: The Redbirds are coming off a record-setting season-opening tournament at the Redbird Invitational. The squad set the school record for lowest tournament score in program history (849), the lowest single-round in school history (second-round 281), tied the previous school record with an opening-round 282. Individuals Jones' and Yun's 209 are tied for the second-lowest score in program history while Jones tied the single-round school record with a five-under 67. First-year collegiate golfers Jessica Jolly (215) and Elise Fennell (217) carded the lowest two scores by a freshman in program history while Jolly's opening round of 70 is tied for the second-lowest by a freshman in ISU program history.

Redbird History at Johnie Imes Invitational: The Redbirds have competed in this yearly fall event in 12 of the most recent 14 fall seasons. This includes tying for fifth place in the 2021 season with a three-round score of 891—the lowest in school history at this event by 15 total strokes—including a second-round score of 287. Last season’s second-round score of 286 (-2) was also notable as it was the lowest by an ISU squad at this event in program history.

About the Course: The Club at Old Hawthorne sits on what was once a horse farm spanning over ​​631 acres. Today it features manicured fairways and wooded lots where families reside. The original portion of its clubhouse was built in ​1938 as an exact replica of President Andrew Jackson's home "The Hermitage".
