The Illinois Wesleyan University hosted its 13th annual "Tommy Awards" on April 15 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. Sponsored by the IWU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and State Farm Insurance, the event celebrated student-athletes across various categories.
Taylor French from the women's volleyball team and Bobby Beaubien from the men's golf team received the top honors as Female and Male Athlete of the Year. The women's golf team was recognized for achieving the highest overall grade-point average, earning them the title of Academic Team of the Year.
Sam Kedzior, a men's soccer goalkeeper, was awarded Best Championship Performance among men. On the women's side, golfer Emma Thorman and Adriana Crabtree from cross country/track & field shared this accolade.
Sawyer White was acknowledged for her outstanding season with a Best Record-Breaking Performance award. Breakthrough Athletes of the Year were Quinn Clifford (men's golf) and Jordan Pierce (women's volleyball), while Rookie of the Year awards went to Juney Bai (men's golf) and Imani Ogunribido (women's track and field).
Trystan Seeley from men's lacrosse won Best Clutch Performance, while men's soccer secured Best Game for their performance in the CCIW Tournament Championship game.
Dennis Martel, a longtime head baseball coach, received a coach recognition award. Taylor Babec earned the Fightin' Titan Award for her resilience as a childhood cancer survivor and her support for Titan athletic programs. Caite Knutson was honored with the Do Good Now Award for fundraising efforts benefiting St. Jude's.
Additionally, awards were given to student-athletes with top grade-point averages in their sports: Evan Schneider (men's basketball), Maya Basan (women's soccer), Lexi Onsrud (women's golf), Jessie Sariev (women's volleyball), Sydney Dunlap (women's swim), CJ Ladewig (men’s track), Nora Robinson (women’s cross country), Zach Marquardt (men’s cross country), Kennady Estes (softball), Ethan Hart (men’s lacrosse), Evan Hutson (baseball), Ben Vigneri (men’s tennis), Ethan Lowder & Sam Fogarty (men’s swim), Kate Christian (women’s tennis), Martha Lipic & Payton Jacob (women’s basketball), Peyton Feldman (football), Avery Setzler (women’s lacrosse), Jadyn Bothe (women’s track).
