With a spot in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships at stake, the Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) bowling team is set to compete in the CCIW Tournament II. The event will take place in Addison, Illinois, from March 4-5, hosted by Elmhurst University at Stardust Lanes.
The tournament will use results from both this event and the previous CCIW Tournament I, held November 19-20, to determine which four teams will advance to the CCIW Championships scheduled for March 25-26. In their previous outing at CCIW Tournament I, IWU secured a victory over Carroll University with a total pinfall of 740-701 but ended with an overall record of 1-6. Their game scores were 148, 137, 176, 118, and 161.
Recently, IWU participated in the Storm Hawk Classic from February 24-26 at Quincy University. Senior Shea Atkins recorded the highest pinfall among her team during five-person traditional games with a total score of 822 after five games. Another senior on the team, Alivia Catey, achieved a personal best single-game pinfall of 191 during this event. The team also set a program record with a total pinfall of 773 during one of their matches against Quincy.
