The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team is set to begin its participation in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) competition this weekend. The first of two CCIW Tournaments will take place from November 19-20 in Rock Island, Illinois, hosted by Augustana College.
The CCIW organizes two tournaments during the regular season. The initial tournament occurs in November, with a subsequent event scheduled for March 4-5 in Elmhurst, Illinois. These tournaments determine which teams will advance to the CCIW Championships on March 25-26.
Illinois Wesleyan University has shown significant improvement early in the season. Freshman Tarrah Phillips set two program records at the Columbia 300 Shootout, achieving a single-game best score of 210 and a total pinfall of 981 over six games. During their latest competition at the Lions Classic on October 22-23, the team recorded its highest traditional team score of 751.
Another freshman, Kiera Henderson, achieved her career-best single-game score with a total pinfall of 201 at the Lions Classic on October 22. Henderson and Phillips are currently the only Titans who have bowled over 200 in program history.
