For the second time this season, Jinyoung Yun has been recognized as the MVC Golfer of the Week following her impressive performance at the Columbia Classic. Yun tied for second place overall in the tournament.
Yun recorded rounds of 71, 69, and 73, totaling a score of 213. This achievement ranks as the tenth-best tournament score in her program's history. Throughout this season, she has achieved three of the top-10 all-time tournament scores and six during her year and a half with the program. Her round of 69 is also tied for the tenth-lowest single-round score in school history.
In 17 rounds this season, Yun holds a scoring average of 71.6, with ten rounds at or under par. These ten rounds are tied for the third-most in a single season in school history. She now has 24 career rounds at or under par, which is the second-most in program history. Her current scoring average is nearly one stroke better than last season when she set both school and MVC records for stroke average.
Out of six tournaments this season, Yun has secured five top-10 finishes, including four within the top five.
The Redbirds team is ranked 77th in the latest clippd National Poll and has finished among the top three teams in five out of six tournaments, winning three team championships.
The team will next compete on Friday, February 21st at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University in Rio Verde, Arizona.
