Illinois State men's tennis prepares for road challenges against Wisconsin and Purdue

NORMAL, Ill. -- The Illinois State men's tennis team is set to face two challenging matches against Big Ten opponents this week. The Redbirds, currently holding a 4-7 record, will compete against Wisconsin and Purdue. The match against the Badgers is scheduled for Wednesday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. Following that, the team will travel to Lafayette, Indiana, to play against the Boilermakers at Schwartz Tennis Center.

In their last outing, the Redbirds secured a victory over Western Michigan Broncos with a score of 5-2 at Evergreen Racquet Club. Notable performances included Adrian Dibildox's win over Adesoro and Tin Ostro's triumph over Pierce in singles matches. Christian Capacci and Tom Bevan also contributed wins in their respective singles matches.

In doubles play, Illinois State's Tomas Valencia and Adrian Dibildox won their match against Pierce and Davison from Western Michigan. Additionally, Tin Ostro and Caden Scarlett secured another doubles victory for the Redbirds.

The upcoming opponent Wisconsin recently defeated Drake Bulldogs 4-0 on February 2nd. Key performances came from Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek in doubles as well as Michael Minasyan in singles.

Purdue also comes off a recent win against Western Michigan on February 14th with a decisive 6-1 scoreline. Juan David Velasquez excelled in singles play while Aleksa Krivokapic paired with Velasquez to secure a doubles win.
