Illinois State University's women's tennis team secured a decisive 7-0 victory over Chicago State University at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Illinois. This win extends Illinois State's all-time record against Chicago State to 10-0 since 2016.
In doubles competition, the No.1 pair of junior Lana Caculovic from Dugo Selo, Croatia, and freshman Nicole Iosio from Cordenons, Italy, achieved a 6-1 victory. Freshman Emma Lindh from Malmo, Sweden, and graduate student Elena Jankulovska from Skopje, Macedonia, defeated Mackenzie King and Nadjema Morille with a score of 6-0 at the No. 2 position.
The singles matches saw Illinois State winning four matches in straight sets. At No.1 singles, junior Lana Caculovic played to a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Chicago State's Mackenzie King. Matches No.5 and No.6 were forfeited by Chicago State.
The Birds are set to travel to Peoria for a match against the Bradley Braves this weekend before returning for outdoor matches on March 29 against UNI and March 30 against Drake Bulldogs at Gregory Street Tennis Courts.
