Illinois State baseball players honored on MVC Scholar-Athlete Team

Illinois State University has announced that three of its baseball players, Daniel Pacella, Tyrelle Chadwick, and Judah Morris, have been named to the 2025 MVC Scholar-Athlete Team. The announcement was made by the conference office.

All three athletes were included in the Scholar-Athlete First Team. This marks the 17th consecutive year that Illinois State has had at least one student-athlete on the First Team.

Daniel Pacella from Mundelein, Illinois, played left field and was one of three Redbirds to start every game this season. He achieved a batting average of .355 with 19 doubles, two triples, and 20 home runs. He also scored 58 runs and drove in 59 RBIs. Last season, Pacella was also selected for the Scholar-Athlete First Team.

Judah Morris from Mather, California played first base and maintained a batting average of .298 with 16 doubles and 19 home runs. He drove in 50 runs and scored 56 times during the season. Morris was named Second Team All-Conference this season after being selected for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team in 2024.

Tyrelle Chadwick from Kamloops, British Columbia finished his season with a record of six wins and three losses with an ERA of 4.31. He started in twelve games this season and pitched for over seventy-seven innings while striking out forty-three batters against twenty-five walks.

The Redbirds completed their season with a record of twenty-eight wins and twenty-eight losses making their fifth appearance at the MVC Tournament under Coach Steve Holm. They finished the tournament with one win against Indiana State followed by two losses.
