Sophomore Alex Bardouniotis from Illinois Wesleyan University's women's volleyball team has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week for the second time this season. The announcement was made by the league on Monday, October 27.

This recognition marks the fifth weekly hitter award for the Titans during this season. Bardouniotis previously received this honor on October 6. Teammate Taylor French has earned three similar honors earlier in the season. In total, Illinois Wesleyan players have collected ten weekly awards across different categories, with Hannah Tellor, Sophia Feeney, Eleanor Palmer, Alysa Lawton, and Kannyn Boyd also being recognized.

Bardouniotis contributed significantly to her team's performance last week as Illinois Wesleyan posted a 2-0 record. This included a win over Millikin on Friday night, which secured at least a share of the CCIW Regular Season Championship and gave Illinois Wesleyan hosting rights for the conference tournament.

During the week, Bardouniotis recorded 20 kills with an average of 3.33 per set and a .244 attack percentage. She also tallied 21 digs (3.50 per set), three aces, two blocks, and one assist.

Earlier in the week against No. 13 ranked WashU on Tuesday night, Bardouniotis achieved a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs along with two aces, an assist, and a block. She followed up that performance at Millikin with another strong showing: 10 kills on a .364 hitting percentage plus a block and an ace.

The Titans are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday night, October 29, when they host Carroll at Shirk Center starting at 7 p.m.
