The Illinois Wesleyan University cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday, November 15, in Waverly, Iowa. The women's team finished in 11th place overall, while the men's team placed 17th.
A senior from Normal, Illinois, earned All-Region honors for the second consecutive year by finishing seventh individually with a time of 22:01.2. This result marks the best finish by a Titan runner at the regional meet and is the highest since Kerry Devitt's ninth-place showing in 2009.
On the men's side, a senior from Lake Barrington led Illinois Wesleyan with a 66th-place finish and a time of 26:34.0.
The women's team narrowly missed a top-10 placement as Washington University outperformed Chicago in the competitive Midwest region. In the men's race, Wartburg College secured five of the top ten individual spots to surpass Chicago for first place.
Official lists of qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA National Championship in Spartanburg, South Carolina will be released on Sunday, November 16. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association will announce its list of All-Region honorees on Monday, November 17.
