Fairbury Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.
The Fairbury Police Department was notified about an unpermitted solicitor in town last night. Please call 692-3351 with a description and location of any solicitor that comes to your door. A permitted solicitor will be wearing a safety yellow vest and badge issued by the City Clerk. If your solicitor is lacking these credentials, he/she is unpermitted.
