Town of Chatsworth Board of Trustee met Sept. 26.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town council room at 7:00PM

Roll call showed the following present: Trustee Price, Bell, Schroen, Cavanagh, and Harn. Also, present: President Runyon, Clerk Meyer, Chief Cavanagh, Superintendent Harn, and Treasurer Dassow. Absent was Trustee Nelson, Superintendent Mogged, and Attorney Coleman.

A motion by Trustee Harn and seconded by Trustee Bell to approve the agenda. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Schroen and seconded by Trustee Harn to approve the minutes from the previous regular board meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas

Correspondence / Public Issues

Chief Cavanagh reported Officer Dean has started physical therapy and will return for duty once released by the Doctor. He also reported working on ordinance violations and due to all the changes/updates regarding no cash bail, the need for faster internet has arisen.

New Business

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Harn to postpone town hall windows for clarification on the quotes received. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Schroen to approve the placement of 8 new light poles around the town park in the amount of $2,112.50 from Ameren. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Bell to purchase an assortment of replacement signs, such as speed limit and stop signs, in the amount of $2,254.76. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas

President Runyon reported needing to sell the Top Kick and requested the Trustees approval on placing the flag pole bought for Blue Bird Hall in front of the school house. They agreed.

Trustee Schroen reported needing to get a committee together to discuss the renewal of the Town’s garbage contract.

Superintendent Harn reported they will be starting a weekly hydrant flushing/water testing for nitrification action plan. He would like to get a committee meeting scheduled soon to discuss lead lines and a plan of action. Also reported needing to get a vac truck in soon to pot hole unknown service lines and main connections for material service inventory.

Clerk Meyer reported that Superintendent Mogged received his annual evaluation with a 3% increase, Joel from Route 24 will be in Thursday to set up the new office computer, and you will see the rates reflected on the next bill cycle due to the billing schedule.

Public Input:

Citizen Carolyn Barrett questioned when and what the brush schedule was. President Runyon informed her that brush pick up season is over at the end of October, unless special circumstances like a storm exist. She also questioned the crossing of the railroad tracks on the east end of locust, to which President Runyon didn’t have an answer.

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Harn to pay the bills. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Cavanagh to adjourn the meeting at 7:44PM. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas
