The Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) men's and women's track and field teams secured six championship titles at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track and Field Championships in Naperville, Illinois. Sophomores Adriana Crabtree and Evan Lowder each won two titles during the event.
The IWU men's team achieved 17 All-CCIW performances, tying for second place with Carthage College with a score of 115 points. North Central College won the meet with 165 points. The women's team placed fourth overall with 87 points, while North Central College also took first place in this category with 157.5 points.
Crabtree excelled by winning both the mile (5:10.97) and the 3,000-meter run (10:16.14), making her only the second Titan to become a champion in these events. Her performance moved her into second all-time for IWU in the 3k event.
Lowder became the first Titan to win CCIW titles in both the 400-meter (48.47) and 200-meter dashes (22.12). His achievements include setting a new school record in the 400m and ranking tenth across Division III.
Freshman Imani Ogunribido tied IWU's school record in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.07 meters, earning her a CCIW Championship title and placing her sixth nationally.
Freshman Adam Beasley claimed victory in the men's high jump with a clearance of 2.05 meters, marking him as only the second-ever CCIW Champion since Eric Rydell's win in 2016.
Additional notable performances included junior Sam Okewole taking second place in men's triple jump, senior Lauren Wong achieving runner-up status in women's triple jump, and sophomore Jahari Scott finishing third overall in men's 60-meter dash.
IWU will now focus on final qualifiers next week before participating in the NCAA Division III Track and Field National Championships scheduled for March 8-9.
