The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams are preparing for a busy weekend with three separate competitions. The athletes will participate in the WashU Distance Carnival, the Big Blue Alumni Invite, and the Redbird Challenge from Thursday, March 28 to Saturday, March 30.
Junior Annalese Chudy from Libertyville will represent Illinois Wesleyan at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis. She is scheduled to compete in the women's 10,000-meter run on Thursday evening at 9:20 p.m. Chudy will be one of 35 runners in her section of the event.
At the Redbird Challenge hosted by Illinois State University, both men's and women's hammer throw events will take place on Friday. Junior Carlyssa King from Decatur will participate in the women's hammer throw. Juniors Sam Hea from Quincy and CJ Ladewig from Palos Heights will compete in the men's hammer throw. This event includes 16 teams primarily consisting of Division I schools.
Another group of Titans is set to travel to Decatur for Millikin University's Big Blue Alumni Invite on Friday afternoon. Initially planned for Saturday morning, this meet has been rescheduled with field events starting at noon and track events beginning at 3 p.m.
