The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams are set to participate in the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite in Joliet, Illinois, on May 10-11. The event serves as an opportunity for athletes to improve their marks ahead of the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships scheduled for later this month.

Recently, the IWU men's team secured a third-place finish at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships, while the women's team finished fifth. The Titans achieved a total of 37 All-CCIW performances across both programs.

Sophomore Evan Lowder from Bloomington, Illinois, emerged victorious in multiple events at the CCIWs. He won both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes and contributed significantly to the winning 4-by-100m relay team. Lowder will join freshmen Tyrice Bender and Reece Dusek, sophomore Joel Weber, and junior Alex Harvey in competing in the 4-by-400m relay on Friday at 7:25 p.m.

In addition to their participation in relays, Bender, Weber, and Harvey will race individually in the 400m on Saturday at 3:05 p.m. Freshman Peyton Stinger will compete in the women's 800m at 4:10 p.m., while sophomore Seth Hamerski and junior Ernie Waterson will represent IWU in the men's 800m. Lowder and Dusek are also set to compete in the 200m event at 5:25 p.m.

Field events will see freshman Matt Lindberg participating in the men's high jump on Friday at 2 p.m., with sophomore Isaac Whitaker taking part in the men's pole vault on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Live results can be accessed online during the event, with final results posted on iwusports.com following its conclusion.
