Illinois Wesleyan men's volleyball heads to Rockford for first road trip

After securing three consecutive home victories to start the 2025 season, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team is set for its first away game. The Titans will face Rockford University on Tuesday, January 21, with the match beginning at 7 p.m. at Seaver Center.

The Titans recently triumphed in the IWU Triangular I event, winning against The University of Olivet and Lakeland University. Freshman Ethan Kuziela led the team's offense with nine kills and a .421 hitting percentage in their last match. Sophomore Bryce Williams contributed seven kills and a team-high of three aces. Senior Vince DiCosola topped assists with 15 and digs with eight.

Ethan Kuziela currently leads IWU's offense this season with 24 kills, averaging 2.67 per set. Ryan Myers follows closely behind with 21 kills, while Gavin Rohlwing has accumulated 19 kills. Kuziela also stands out in serving, leading the team with five aces so far.

DiCosola has been instrumental in setting up plays for IWU, recording 39 assists over three matches. Brenden Reutter follows him with 25 assists.

Defensively, Illinois Wesleyan ranks fourth nationally in blocks per set (2.55). Jake Kougan leads the blocking stats for IWU with an average of 1.30 blocks per set.

This upcoming match marks the sixth meeting between Illinois Wesleyan and Rockford since their series began in February 2021. The Titans have won all previous encounters against Rockford.

Rockford will be playing its first match of the season on Tuesday night.
