Illinois Wesleyan rises to No.5 in D3hoops men's basketball rankings

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team has advanced to No. 5 in the D3hoops.com Top-25 rankings, as announced on January 20. The Titans received 508 points, moving up one spot in the poll.

UW-Platteville continues to hold the top position with 17 first-place votes and a total of 616 points. Emory follows in second place with 598 points and five first-place votes, while Trine is third with two first-place votes and 569 points. Wesleyan ranks fourth with 546 points and one vote for the top spot. Illinois Wesleyan rounds out the top five.

In the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Illinois Wesleyan is the only school ranked in the top-25, although Carthage received votes. The Titans currently have a season record of 14-2 after defeating Millikin with a score of 77-60 on January 15.

Illinois Wesleyan will begin a three-game homestand on Wednesday, January 22, against Augustana College at home. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

The D3hoops.com Top-25 rankings are determined by a panel consisting of coaches, Sports Information Directors, and media members nationwide. Points are allocated on a descending scale from 25 to one based on rankings submitted by panel members each week.
