The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams are set to host the Keck DIII Select meet on February 7-8 at their home venue in Bloomington, Illinois. This event will also feature a Senior Day ceremony honoring 19 seniors from both the men's and women's teams.
Last weekend, a select group of athletes represented IWU at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. The men's 4-by-400 meter relay team achieved a significant milestone by recording the second-fastest time in program history with a finish of 3:20.39.
Illinois Wesleyan athletes hold leading positions within the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Senior Ernie Waterson has recorded the fastest time in the men's 800 meters, while junior Adriana Crabtree leads in the women's mile. Sophomore Imani Ogunribido is ahead by more than a foot in the women's triple jump.
Nationally, four Titans are ranked among the top-20 for their events. Ogunribido is fifth in the women's triple jump, Ethan Godsey is tenth in men's triple jump, King ranks sixteenth in women's weight throw, and Matthew Lindberg stands nineteenth in men's high jump.
The Shirk Center will welcome competitors from 16 teams this weekend. The competition begins with pentathlon and heptathlon events on Friday afternoon and continues into Saturday morning. Field events commence shortly after Saturday's Senior Day recognition ceremony.
A live stream covering various aspects of Friday and Saturday's meet will be accessible online. Results will be posted throughout the event on iwusports.com.
