A section of Broadway Street in Normal, Illinois will be closed starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28. The closure, which affects the area between West Phoenix Avenue and West Beaufort Street, is to allow for repairs on the railroad tracks and crossing. Union Pacific Railroad and its contractor are coordinating the work.

During the closure, northbound traffic will be detoured from Broadway to West Irving to South Fell Avenue. Southbound traffic will be rerouted from West Beaufort Street to South Fell Avenue to West Irving Street.

Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling through this area. The lane reduction is expected to be completed by 7 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, depending on weather conditions.
